Who Is ELIGIBLE to Live in the Residence Hall?
If you are a full-time OC student, at least 17 years of age at the time of move in, you are eligible to live in the Residence Hall.
Olympic College’s Office of Residence Life strives to provide quality housing, a safe environment, and access to leadership and growth opportunities. Residence Life offers a multinational living experience committed to supporting the academic pursuits of our residents and the campus community through socially just and environmentally sustainable practices.
We believe that global citizenship is an appropriate lens through which to perceive the world. We believe that the best way to serve our campus and community is to incorporate many and diverse perspectives on community, citizenship, and civility.
Opening our doors in September of 2013, we welcomed 13 new students to Residence Life. From there we have been steadily growing the ResLife program. In September of 2014 we welcomed 55 residents. We continue to grow, and look forward to serving students and the entire Olympic College community.
Olympic College's Office of Residence Life is always looking for new and better ways to improve our environmental sustainability practices.
One of our core beliefs is that each resident deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. Each resident shares the responsibility of creating an environment in which all residents are respected and valued – regardless of one’s age, weight, gender, sexual orientation, disability, race, ethnicity, color, creed, national origin, cultural background, socio-economic status, or religious affiliation or conviction. We expect each resident and their guests to take the time and energy necessary to get to know people from different groups and cultures as individuals; challenge your biases; think about the impact of your words or actions before you speak or act; refuse to participate with jokes or pranks that are derogatory to any person or group; confront others who are speaking or acting inappropriately; and report incidents of mistreatment or harassment to Residence Life or College staff as soon as possible. Bigotry, bias, prejudice and oppression have no place within our community. Join us in embracing our differences and appreciating the perspectives each resident brings to Olympic College.
